The Kids' Table: COVID Message
The Kids’ Table would like to assure all customers that we always follow the strictest standards of food handling and food safety, as do our partners, McEwan Foods and our delivery company. During this time, we are taking extra precautions such as having our delivery personnel wear masks during our contactless delivery. As always, delivery bags and ice packs that go back into rotation are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
What is the Kids Table?
The Kids’ Table is a Toronto company that delivers prepared healthy and delicious kids’ meals right to the doors of busy parents. Customers choose multiple meals for home delivery on Sundays, and may order whenever they like, as we are not a subscription service. We put the FUN in kids’ meals and take the STRESS off the parents’ plate! Our meals are suitable for children aged six to twelve, but many younger and older kids and adults like them too!
The Kids' Table Founders
Co-founder Nicolette Flemming has a broad business marketing background that included top positions at Coca-Cola Canada and BMO Financial Group. As a busy working mom, Nicolette often felt meal-time stress, particularly when it came to school lunches. Recently, her now-adult son Ian had an idea for a new business offering home delivery of fun, healthy and delicious meals for kids. Nicolette loved the idea and brought Joan Butler, a freelance advertising writer, into the group. Now, Nicolette, Ian, and Joan are working together on a shared vision: to offer parents a little stress relief and give kids the food they WANT to eat!

How healthy and nutritious are the meals?
We source fresh, nutritious ingredients and buy seasonal and local when possible. We use whole-grain products and lean meats and don’t add artificial colours, sweeteners or nitrates to our meals.
Where are the meals prepared?
All meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen in Toronto and packaged following Ontario Health and Safety guidelines.

How long can I store the meals in my fridge?
Once you unpack your delivery, place your meals in your refrigerator and enjoy within 5 days of receiving for peak freshness.
Are the meals freezable?
Some meals are freezable and these will be indicated on our menu page in our meal descriptions. Freezable meals and snacks can be put directly into the freezer in their sealed packages. Thaw in the refrigerator.
How do I heat the meals?
Our Chef from McEwan Fine Foods recommends heating all Ready-To-Heat meals and snacks in the oven for optimum results. Heatable meals and snacks may be warmed in the oven or microwave with the plastic heat-sealed wrap intact. (Some meals heat better without the plastic wrap, please see individual package instructions). Warming instructions are included on the label. Ready-To-Eat meals do not require heating. When warming your meals, please take special care in handling the food containers, as the warm food may cause trays to soften a bit. Be cautious when peeling back the plastic seal, as heat escaping may burn.
Can my child take one of these meals as a heated lunch to school?
If you wish, you can heat a Kids’ Table meal and transfer into a thermal container for your child to take to school. We have personally tested the Thermos FUNtainer (10 and 16 oz sizes) and found that it kept food hot for up to 5 hours!
Where do I find the list of ingredients and nutritional information for each meal?
Ingredients and other information about our meals are indicated on our website and on each meal’s packaging.
What age group are these meals for?
We recommend The Kids’ Table meals for children ages six to twelve, but kids of all ages, and adults, love our meals! Our portion sizes are quite filling for younger children, while you may want to add a snack for older kids or bigger appetites.
What about snacks?
Our Mini Snacks are perfect for a mid-morning or afternoon bite for most kids and our Mega Snacks can almost be a small meal for little ones…and a perfect larger snack for older children.
Suggested Heating Instructions
As a general guideline we recommend warming meals in the microwave for 1 to 1.5 minutes. For conventional oven warming, we recommend a temperature of 340 degrees F for 12 to 14 minutes. Some meals require different heating times, so to be accurate, check the individual meal labels for instructions. Heatable meals and snacks may be warmed in the oven or microwave with the plastic heat-sealed wrap intact. (Some meals heat better without the plastic wrap, please see individual package instructions). Please note, microwave and conventional oven temperatures may vary so adjust accordingly.
Our Heat Seal Film
The film used in our meal and snack packaging is safe for use in the oven or microwave and self-vents during cooking. The film is BPA free and food safe.
Allergies & Dietary Concerns
Are you a nut-free facility?
No. Although we do not use peanuts or tree nuts in our recipes, we do not have a nut-free facility and cannot guarantee that there will be no contact with nuts.
What about food allergies?
Our meals and snacks are made in a facility that is not allergen-free as they also process: milk, eggs, wheat and triticale (a hybrid of wheat and rye), fish, mustard, soy, sesame, sulfites and tree nuts.
If your child has a severe food allergy, we would recommend that you do not order with us.
Do you offer options for allergies and dietary restrictions?
We strive to provide a very diverse menu offering a variety of meal choices. We indicate which meals are vegetarian. We often offer meals prepared without gluten but we are not a gluten-free facility and minimum traces may be present in our kitchen during preparation. Ingredients for each meal and snack are listed on our website and on our packaging.
Meal & Snack Pricing
How much are the meals?
We offer three meal price ranges. Choose 6 to 8 meals and pay$8.29 a meal; 9 to 11 meals and pay $7.99 a meal or 12 plus meals and pay $7.69 a meal.
Note: HST is applicable on ready-to-eat meals (not heatable).
How much are snacks?
Once you have ordered a minimum of 6 meals, you are able to order snacks. Mini snacks are $2.49. Mega snacks are $4.29.

How many meals should I order for one week?
As a general guideline, we recommend 6 to 8 meals and a couple of snacks per child per week if they will be having them for most school lunches and another meal or two. The 9 to 11 meal package plus snacks might be best for two children who are mostly using them for school lunches. The 12 meal plus package offers the best pricing deal and would be good for two or more children.
When do my orders have to be placed for the next Sunday delivery?
Orders must be placed before 11:59 pm on the Thursday before your Sunday delivery.
Do I have to subscribe?
No, The Kids’ Table is not a subscription service. You may order with us anytime you like.
Do you offer various portion sizes?
All of our meals are of similar portion size. Our snacks come in either Mini or Mega sizes.
When is my order cut-off day when ordering for the next week? When will I be charged and up until what point can I edit my orders?
All orders must be made before 11:59 pm on the Thursday before your Sunday delivery. No orders can be changed after this time. If you want to change your order before the cut-off time, you will be able to make changes on the website. Your credit card is charged once the ordering window has closed, on or shortly after midnight on the Thursday before your Sunday delivery.
Can I change my order?
You can go back into your account and change your order any time up until the Thursday night order cut-off time for your next Sunday delivery.
Can I cancel my order?
You may cancel your order at any time before the Thursday night order cut-off time for next Sunday delivery.
If I change or cancel my order and am due a refund, how and when do I get my refund?
You would receive your refund through the same card or method you used to pay for your purchase. Refunds are usually processed as soon as practicable, but in any case within 30 days of the date that we confirmed you are entitled to a refund.
What is Order Sharing?
Order sharing is not an official Kids’ Table process…just a great idea for saving money! Share your meal order/delivery with friends or neighbours and save by ordering more meals at less cost. It’s the orderer’s responsibility to place the order under his/her/their name. The Kids’ Table will treat this order as any other: as a single customer, single order, single payment.
How does Order Sharing work?
An example: If you want to order 6 meals and your friend wants to order 6 meals, you could place an order for 12 meals and take advantage of the better price, and only one delivery charge, as it’s being delivered to one location.
What are the “pros” of Order Sharing?
When you share an order, you’re ordering more meals to one address. Your individual meal costs go down, plus you only have one delivery charge.
What are the “cons” of Order Sharing?
Order sharing puts some onus of responsibility on “The Orderer”. As “The Orderer” you would make the order and put the charge on your credit card, having the order delivered to your address. You then would have to work out how much your friend(s) owe you, how they will pay you and the details of how they will be getting their meals from you.
Does The Kids’ Table separate the shared orders?
No, The Kids’ Table treats the order as one, single order.
Do you only deliver on Sundays?
Yes, at this time we only deliver once a week, on Sundays.
Where do you deliver?
Currently, we deliver to Toronto and most of the GTA as well as Hamilton, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and Cambridge. We continue to expand. Enter your email address and postal code on our website to find out if we deliver to your area.
Do I pay for delivery?
We charge a delivery fee of $9.
May I specify where I want my meals delivered?
When ordering, you may indicate where your meals are to be delivered: the delivery address (if the same or different to your billing address); and the house location (i.e. front door, side door, etc). Please make sure all locations are easily accessible.
What if I live in an apartment or condo?
Our delivery team does not deliver to individual units. If you have a concierge, please inform them that you are expecting an order to be left with them. If there is no concierge, please be available on delivery day to buzz our delivery person in and meet them in the lobby to accept your order.
What’s included in each delivery?
Your scheduled delivery comes on Sundays in returnable/reusable cooler delivery bags. Inside you’ll find your order of fully-prepared ready-to-eat and/or ready-to-heat kids’ meals! Some meals are also freezable. Meals are pre-cooked and may be enjoyed cold, at room temperature, or warmed up. Full information can be found on the packaging.
Where are my meals being prepared and delivered from and how long will they stay fresh?
All meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen in Toronto and are cooked, cooled, and packaged following Ontario Health and Safety guidelines. Meals are heat-sealed, stamped with an expiration date and sent to The Kids’ Table refrigerated facility where they are sorted by order, packed in cooler bags with frozen ice packs and sent off for delivery. You are sent an email reminder the night before your delivery. On delivery day you’ll receive a delivery time estimate and tracking link. We recommend you refrigerate your order upon delivery and consume your meals within 5 days of receiving them, for peak freshness.
What do I do if my delivery does not come?
Our delivery time is between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sundays. If you do not receive your order please contact us at email@example.com. Someone will respond within 24 hours.
What if my delivered order is incorrect?
If you find that the delivery is not as ordered please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Someone will respond within 24 hours.
Our Packaging & The Environment
Returnable/Reusable Insulated Cooler Bags:
We are proud to offer our customers reusable cooler delivery bags. We feel strongly about doing our part for the environment and encourage you to help us! Your first order is delivered in an insulated delivery bag. When ordering with us again, please place the bag outside your door for pickup when you’re expecting your delivery and it will go back into our delivery bag rotation. Recyclable meal containers:
All of our meal trays are recyclable. We continue to monitor environmental advances in meal packaging and recycling/composting technology in order to use the most sustainable packaging possible.
Returnable ice bags:
Ice bags are biodegradable and leak-proof. Please return them to us in the cooler bag.
Are the cooler delivery bags cleaned between uses?
Yes, each time the cooler bags are collected, they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before being put back into rotation. See our video for a demonstration of our delivery bag cleaning process. Please click here to watch.
What do I do with the frozen ice packs?
Return them to us in your cooler delivery bag for pick up when expecting your next delivery. Ice packs are also thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before being put back into rotation.
How do you collect the returnable cooler bags and ice packs?
Please leave your cooler bag and ice packs on your doorstep when you expect your next delivery. Our delivery person will collect them when dropping off your order.
What if I forget to leave my cooler bag out?
If you forget to put previous bags and ice packs out, please put them out the next time you order with us.
Send a Gift
How do I send a Kids' Table Gift Card?
Click on “Send A Gift” at the top of our webpage. Choose the amount you want to spend (minimum $65.). We’ll send your recipient an online gift card; they go online to order their meals, snacks and delivery date.
Our Cooler Bag Policy
We use returnable/reusable cooler delivery bags. We thoroughly clean and sanitize all cooler bags and ice packs before putting back into rotation. If bags become damaged or are unreturned, they are replaced with new ones. In order to support this environmental initiative, we charge a Delivery Bag Replacement/Cleaning Fee of $1.00 per order.
What forms of payment can I use?
We accept payment with American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and via PayPal.
Do I keep a credit card on file with you for future orders?
For security reasons, we do not keep your credit card information on file.
When does the charge go through?
Your credit card is charged once the ordering window has closed, on or shortly after midnight on the Thursday before your Sunday delivery.
Can I establish an account with you?
Yes, your account with us is non-subscription and completely flexible. You are able to log in to your account, view your order history and make changes to any order before the cut-off time. We do not keep your credit card information on file.
How do I make changes to my account?
Log in and go to your account settings to make change to your account information.
Can I make changes to my account at any time?
Yes, you may make changes to your account at any time but if you have an order in process this change will not affect that particular order and will only apply to future unprocessed orders. This includes changes to your address. Processed orders will be delivered and will arrive as they were at the time of processing.
Can I review past orders on my account?
Yes, go to Order History to review meals you have ordered in the past.
